With The Anacrusis, a co-op shooter hope is now in the starting blocks. At least a first early access version should be available soon.
If you are interested in co-op shooters, you will soon get a possibly interesting new representative. Developer Stray Bombay announced in a new dev blog in the person of co-founder Chet Faliszek that The Anacrusis will soon go into Early Access. This involves the players directly in the further development up to the later full version.
The Early Access or Game Preview version for PC and Xbox consoles should be available from January 13, 2022; The later full version is currently also planned for those platforms.
As a classic co-op shooter, The Anacrusis picks up on the formula most closely related to Left 4 Dead. The development team, which consists of former employees of Valve and Riot Games, will put you on a spaceship and give the co-op shooter a good dose of 60s vibes. Since you are dealing with hordes of humanoid monsters, the whole thing really feels a bit like Left 4 Dead in a new optical guise.
According to their own statements, the developers want to “work actively with the community and not just react to bugs” to refine the game. In this regard, the promise is, “We’re going to really make meaningful changes to the game based on the community.”
The Anacrusis will start in Early Access on January 13, 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC and will then also be part of the Xbox Game Pass.
In autumn 2021, the indie studio Stray Bomber will bring The Anacrusis, a co-op shooter in the style of Left 4 Dead, exclusively to PC, Xbox Series X / S and Xbox One – also via Xbox Game Pass.
