The Sims 4: Still Incredibly Successful

incredibly, Sims, successful

Actually, one should think that The Sims 4 has long since passed its zenith after more than seven years since its release. But exactly the opposite is the case.

2014 appeared with The Sims 4 the so far last part of the venerable series, further fed with numerous expansions and DLCs. It was only this year that Electronic Arts had released a lot of supplies again after the game in Corona year 2020 attracted many players again due to the lockdown boredom. Apparently that has not changed in 2021, based on the numbers EA has now published.

According to this, fans have so far spent over a billion hours of gaming time in 2021. In that time, a whopping 376 million Sims were created – more than the population of the United States. Incidentally, they gave a total of 274 million “Woohoos” and the most common cause of Sims death is old age (funny, for me it was always accidents under questionable circumstances).

That doesn’t mean the Sims are at the top of EA brands. EA’s two most-played franchises continue to be FIFA and Apex Legends. In FIFA 21 alone, a whopping 22 billion goals were scored this year.
