It is true that with the arrival on the market of the new models iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, the battery of the devices has been extended to 28 hours of video playback but, as you will see for yourself, little by little small The battery life will be reduced over time – something quite logical and understandable due to the natural wear and tear of its useful life due to charge cycles. Also, many iOS users use previous generation iPhone models. That is why today, from iPadízate, we will tell you a series of tips and tricks that will help you to do that your iPhone battery lasts more than 24 hours.
My personal experience of extending iPhone battery life
Batteries are a real bummer – not to mention bad words – throughout my life I have had many negative feelings about the batteries in all of my devices. Not just because there comes a time when the battery life ends, which is understandable, but rather because of the simple fact that I have to be continuously charges the battery of all my terminals: iPhone, iPad, MacBook, accessories, smartwatches, speakers, game console controls and a (practically endless) etc.
And does that when you charge the battery of 4 or 5 devices at the same time – besides running out of almost no available outlets – via multiple cables, things end up being a mess, pun intended. So over the years I have learned to improve and maximize energy consumption that I give to my devices, especially the iPhone XR and iPad Pro. Here are my top tips!
1. Battery charge cycles
One of the points to take into account to improve the autonomy and the battery life of our devices is to respect the margin of the charge cycles. As we have mentioned several times, if you don’t want to have any issues with your iPhone battery, it is better to charge the battery to 20% or 30% and stop charging it to 80%.
This will the life of your battery is extended and its energy efficiency is much higher. But be careful! It’s also not about recharging your device’s battery 5 times a day.
And you are wondering, how is it possible that the battery lasts me more than 24 hours with only 80% percentage? The answer is simple, with good use of your iPhone. And that brings us to the next point …
2. Correct use of the iPhone
It might sound like bullshit, but no matter how many configuration tweaks you make on your iPhone, it will be the most influential factor in saving your device’s battery and the most important item on our list of tips.
What exactly is good use of an iPhone? It’s clear and simple we are talking about use your iPhone when needed. It is NOT strictly necessary. In other words, if you need to reply to a message, do so. If you want to listen to music or watch your favorite series, go for it. But if you have an alternative at your fingertips, take advantage of it.
For example, if you have the iPhone handy and the iPad on the table, wouldn’t it be better to enjoy all your devices even if you have to get up from the couch? This way you will go distribute energy consumption between all your devices and equipment.
There are other aspects of using my iPhone well that have done wonders in reducing battery consumption. Aspects which, on the other hand, have also benefited me on a personal level. One of them is turn off cell phone completely – or, failing that, turn off notifications – when I’m busy doing something.
If you work and the iPhone is turned off for a few hours, you will be giving your smartphone battery a much-needed break. Plus, you can always turn it on when you need it. And if you have a Mac, iPad, or Apple Watch handy, you can continue to send messages, receive notifications, and more.
3. Screen brightness control
There is no doubt, at least in my case, that one of the features of my iPhone that uses the most battery is the screen brightness. Although I am a person who tends to increase the brightness of the screen considerably, it is a fad. Except at night when I don’t increase the brightness above 30% and usually turn on dark mode. This causes the battery to drop very low.
If you’re not like me, I recommend keeping the auto aspect turned on between light and dark mode, as well as the True Tone feature and auto-lock (30 seconds or 1 minute) from Settings> Display and brightness. If it’s like me, try turning on Control Center frequently to manually decrease or increase the screen brightness.
Another of the settings to take into account to prevent the screen brightness from consuming so much energy is to access Settings> Accessibility and activate the “Automatic brightness” function.
4. Low consumption mode
How not to include the low power mode in an article on tips to reduce the power consumption of an iPhone? Yes of course. Even though I don’t use it a lot!
I don’t like the low power mode to turn off depending on the functions. And this feature disables email notifications, background updates (be careful, they use a lot of battery!), Automatic downloads, and some UI animations of the operating system software of the system. ‘iPhone.
personally I prefer manually deactivate any functions you will not be using and combine that premise with running low power mode when I really need to save battery power. Something I highly recommend to all users.
Note that you can use the Shortcuts app to automate this process and create your own super battery saver mode. Here are the functions I usually turn off on my iPhone:
- Site.
- Updates in the background.
- Turn off notifications with do not disturb mode.
- Disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity in the settings.
Hope my personal experience has helped you reduce the power consumption you are giving your iPhone and enjoy that “last drop” of battery. If you want to know more, I invite you to discover these fabulous settings to save battery in iOS 15.
These tips work perfectly for me and make my iPhone XR last over a day! I hope that my experience will allow you to do the same with your smartphone.
