The futuristic-themed PUBG: New State launched on mobile devices in November and has enjoyed great popularity ever since. Now there is also a first major content update.
Krafton should be more than satisfied with the start of PUBG: New State so far. Today it was announced that the Battle Royale offshoot on iOS and Android has now been downloaded more than 45 million times worldwide.
This milestone is also celebrated with a first major update. The new Survivor Pass Vol. 2 is available now and once again allows you to unlock a multitude of new rewards. New vehicles, a new weapon, weapon customization options, and more will also find their way into the game.
The most important features are officially stated as follows:
- Survivor Pass, Vol. 2: This Survivor Pass is available now and is based on the game character Bell, who is part of the Dream Runners Faction. Players can complete a series of “story missions” to obtain all of Bella’s costumes. Additionally, players can upgrade to a Premium Pass for additional vehicle skins and character costumes, as well as earn 1,500 NC back when they reach level 48 of the pass.
- New vehicles: Two new vehicles come into play, including the Elektron, an electric 6-seater minibus that is more resilient compared to other vehicles in the game. There is also the Mesta, a two-seater classic sports car that accelerates quickly and reaches high speeds. The Elektron is available on Troi and the training ground, the Mesta on Troi, Erangel and also on the training ground.
- New weapon: The new update adds the L85A3, an assault rifle with low recoil. Although its rate of fire is lower than other weapons in the game, the L85A3 has the highest damage of any assault rifle with 5.56m ammo. This makes it a great choice for medium to long range attack.
- New weapon adjustments: There are new customization options for the M416, SLR and L85A3 weapons. Players can now equip the M416 with a long barrel to increase damage at the cost of increased vertical recoil. The SLR can be equipped with a 5.56mm barrel to increase shooting accuracy at the expense of less damage. Players can also equip the new L85A3 assault rifle with a vertical front handle bipod, which reduces vertical recoil and provides more controlled recoil in the crouched or prone position. However, the ADS speed of the L85A3 is reduced when using the vertical front handle bipod.
- Earning point system: To encourage positive gaming behavior, a new earnings point system is being introduced. If players are reported for negative behavior, such as team kills, they lose merit points. If their Earnings Points drop below a certain threshold, they will no longer be able to play Squad Mode until they increase their total Earning Points over time by playing solo games.
