After the successful first season of the series implementation of The Witcher on Netflix, the second season has now started. In addition, there will also be a prequel series with “The Witcher: Blood Origin” – and a first teaser has now been shown for it.

Just in time for the release of the second season of “The Witcher”, Netflix has also presented a first teaser for the prequel series “The Witcher: Blood Origin”. This is due to be launched on the streaming service in the course of the coming year 2022.

The teaser was initially seen following the credits at the end of the second Witcher season, which Netflix had released last weekend. In the meantime, the clip has also been published independently, so that you can watch it here without any other spoiler risks.

The live-action prequel series takes place around 1,200 years before the stories of Geralt von Rivia and picks up on the birth of the witchcraft and the events known as the “Conjunction of the Spheres”.

The spin-off was announced last summer and revolves around the main character Rush. He was supposed to be played by Jodie Turner Smith, who, however, had to cancel due to scheduling reasons. Now the role of Sophia Brown is played, who is joined by Laurence O’Fuarain as Fjall and Michelle Yeoh (“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”) as the sword elf Scian.

“The Witcher: Blood Origin” has not yet been missed by Netflix as yet on a more specific launch date other than the blanket indication of 2022.
