Leave

Let’s start this journey through hell with Leave. Much has been said about this survival horror and many questions have been raised. Is this the successor to the PT (Silent Hills) demo? Is Hideo Kojima behind the project? You will understand the studio used mysterious communication instead of showing pictures of the game. If the community was amused at the beginning, it got boring and Blue Box Game Studios returned to the shadows. Hence, we know little or nothing about this strange production, despite the fact that it’s announced for 2022. Therefore, more specific information should certainly arrive soon.

Dying Light 2: stay human

For latecomers, the Dying Light license started in 2015 and was a real hit. The recipe for success? Zombies and open world parkour. It’s a nervous formula that didn’t miss the title’s reputation. Unsurprisingly, a second work was launched as a result, but this time the Techland studio’s ambitions are much bigger. As a matter of fact, Dying Light 2: stay human will add a whole new dimension to the original formula for a more varied experience. In addition, players have to make important decisions that will have a real impact on the adventure.

Evil Dead: The Game

If you like the famous mix of thrill and action for several, then Evil Dead: The Game will surely interest you. This Boss Team Games production is right in line with Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th. Understand that we are dealing with relatively similar asymmetrical gameplay. You have a choice between two camps, the survivor or the killer. In the first case, your goal is to explore the map and find a way to fill in the gaps that have opened up between dimensions. In the second case, you play as a demon whose goal is to massacre the other players to the last. The slight difference to the titles mentioned above is that you can play Evil Dead solo.

Ghostwire Tokyo

Ghostwire Tokyo is a little different from the other games on the list. Developed by Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within), this action-adventure game certainly has a terrible atmosphere, but its gameplay is mostly action-focused. The question of fear for your survival will not be of the utmost concern. In fact, in a horror game, the protagonist often has limited means of defense to make the threat even more intimidating. Here our hero has magical powers and quite brutal fighting techniques. Hence, the demons that inhabit Tokyo will not be the hunters so much as the prey. The Japanese capital is the scene of supernatural events that are responsible for the disappearance of all its inhabitants. You are the only one who escaped, even when nightmarish creatures are after you. They all seem to be in the wages of a certain Hannya, whose goal is to be killed in hope of a return to normalcy.

Layers of Fear 3

Layers of Fear 3 is the new installment of the license created by Bloober Team. As a reminder, this studio specializes in horror games and is behind titles like Blair Witch and, more recently, The Medium. At the moment only a rather short and disturbing cutscene has been revealed. The latter, however, shows that this survival horror relies on a psychological approach, as was the case with previous studio projects. As for the story, this third iteration will once again place us in the shoes of the tormented painter and protagonist of the first title in the series. His ordeal is not over.

MADiSON

Move to MADiSON, a first-person psychological horror game. You play as a character with a camera that can connect the world of the living with the afterlife. This object will bring two very different things to the experience. First, a variety of puzzles are presented that revolve around the concept of uncovering clues through photography. Second, and most importantly, the device is used to instill fear. Using the example of Outlast, the player can be effectively surprised by activating the night vision function of the camera. For MADiSON, the machine lightning bolt takes on this hangman’s role with the players.

Martha is dead

Continue with psychological horror Martha is dead. Even if the word thriller would be the right word for the latter. Its story takes place during the Second World War. The daughter of a German soldier discovers the body of a drowned woman. She will then try to uncover the strange circumstances surrounding his death. What begins as a “classic” investigation, however, turns into a macabre story that combines the real and the supernatural against the backdrop of historical events. As an anecdote, you know that LKA is behind this production. This is the studio that The Town of Light developed. We have psycho-horror experts there.

contempt

How to leave contempt began his communication on the hats before falling into total silence. However, the small FPS we saw were enough to hit the mark. His universe, inspired by the artist HR Giger (Alien), is named for good reason and constantly puts players in nightmarish environments. The world of Scorn is cold, slimy, and repulsive like the monsters that inhabit it. The caves traversed during the various trailers seem alive while a strange material covers all the walls. You get the idea, nothing inviting here.

The Callisto Protocol

The Callisto Protocol is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated survival horrors of 2022. This is quite normal as the former creators of Dead Space are involved in the project. In addition, given the first trailer, it is clear that it is a production that follows the basic principles of the game. So we find similar elements such as nightmarish extraterrestrial creatures as well as extremely graphic violence. It is not for nothing to believe that The Callisto Protocol is a spiritual sequel to the adventures of Isaac Clark. That being said, the studio has not yet released a gameplay image. In fact, it’s impossible to know at the moment whether the proposed game mechanics will come close (or not) to those of Dead Space.

Unholy

To stick with the horror theme, there’s nothing like getting closer to the project Unholy. The player embodies a mother who lives in the last still populated city on a dying planet. The young woman tries to find her recently kidnapped child on the run from a tyrannical government that is on fire in the streets of the city. Our heroine is alone in the world in the face of myriad threats that will never cease to haunt her. On the gameplay side, the title is presented by Duality Games as an experience with a heavy emphasis on infiltration and sprinkled with a slight hint of action.
