Avalanche Studios, already working on Contraband, will unveil a new project in 2022. The Swedish developer has been working on a game that is still kept secret since last year. Just be sure, it won’t be a racing game!
An unprecedented license for Avalanche
It’s Paul Rustchynsky, the studio’s game designer, who shares this information on Twitter. On his account, the man posted a photo of the new Liverpool site and added that there would be an announcement soon.
In 2021 we (Avalanche Studios Group) opened a new studio in Liverpool, an exciting time for me as I have achieved one of my career goals.
In 2022 we will have the opportunity to announce the game that we have been working on since last year.
It’s difficult to be more direct, even when obviously no details are shared. But further down in the thread, “hurried” makes it clear that this is a brand new license. This one is not Contraband, the Xbox Exclusive, announced at E3 2021, and won’t be a racing game either.
We are working on another new IP that has yet to be announced. Avalanche has more projects going on than most people expect!

And other ongoing projects
This new information could well contain something else. Still according to Paul Rustchynsky, the creators of Just cause Where Second extinction have other projects underway. The game designer ensures that the teams are working on more games than we can imagine.
We are working on another new IP that has yet to be announced. There are more projects going on at Avalanche than most people think!
Could a new episode of Just Cause be in the works for the next generation of home consoles? Or are these still new licenses? The bets are now open and we can’t wait to find out more. This year definitely promises to be exciting in 2022!
