Literally what the hell? It’s been less than a week in 2022 and the shit has already started. The mods for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade started shortly after his problematic pc release last month, but I certainly didn’t expect someone to get completely sick and give Sephiroth the Ronald McDonald make-over.
Okay, technically the mod called “Sephironald” was released on December 29th (thank you Polygon), but since everyone has been collectively busy wiping 2021 from their minds, I firmly view it within the framework of the 2022 Internet Abomination Window. Modders Crandif‘s manual labor does one thing and only one thing: do a color palette swap on Sephiroth so that the FFVII remake The antagonist changes from the former SOLDIER 1.
Final Fantasy VII remake takes the classic 1997 JRPG and re-introduces it with beautiful modern graphics and a few twists in history that longtime fans didn’t necessarily see coming. The focus is on Sephiroth, an all-time video game villain who is famous, among other things, for being accompanied by a battle song in which singers sing in Latin. May God forgive those who choose to smear part of it with a fast food clown.
Of course, as noted by Polygon, McSephiroth is nothing new. The mashup meme has a long and strange history of Cosplay to mods for other games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Who doesn’t remember the epic showdown between McSephiroth and KFC Cloud?
For those who don’t want an apocalyptic Ronald McDonald to chase their game or dreams, there are plenty of other cooler mods out there for FFVII remake on PC, including one to have Cloud wear his dress the whole game, one to replace Aerith’s weapons with chairs, and a few too help to increase overall performance.
