We have the 2022 arena fairly unfolded, in the absence of surprises, but this coming year also comes with “homework” that has remained unresolved. Rumors were betting on certain products that would see the light of day in 2021 but which ultimately did not appear, having to wait a little longer. These are not official delays (we can’t say that based on rumors), but this is what we hope to see in 2022 after rumors gave us false hopes for last year.
New iMac 2021, analysis: features, specifications and price
An “iMac Pro”
There were feelings in seeing him before Christmas, but eventually we’ll have to wait for something more. Apple has yet to show the iMac M1’s older brother at one point, and rumors are now pointing to spring. Expect a 27 “or larger screen, M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, and a mini-LED panel that will delight image and video professionals.
The second generation AirPods Pro
The ‘AirPods Pro 2’ are still not a reality after months of rumors, although there are more and more details about it and this 2022 they will not escape. The most recent leaks indicate that we’ll see them in the fall with health sensors, lossless sound quality, and a new case with sound to make it discoverable.
A redesigned MacBook Air
Another computer that we could have seen in 2021 and that we will finally see this spring if the rumors end up being confirmed. The new design of the MacBook Air was expected before, even with the arrival of the M1 chip, but it was ultimately long overdue. With it, expect fewer frames, a switch to white, and an aluminum exterior shell in iMac colors.
A cheaper external screen
Since the arrival of the XDR Pro display in 2019, there have been hints that more Apple-branded monitors are reappearing, and what at first looked like it was going to release in 2021 may eventually appear (if it appears. ) in 2022 in one form or another. It will be a good sized, high quality panel, although there are doubts in the air as to whether it will be mini LEDs. And let’s not forget the mystery of a screen with GPU included, present in a rumor that refuses to die.
A new redesigned Mac mini
Fall 2021 was also not the final date for a redesigned Mac mini that has been around for a long time. It would be smaller, although it might be able to fit Apple’s M1 Pro chip and keep the same number of ports as the current model. It could be one of the computers that will complete the transition to Apple Silicon during WWDC22, although it is also possible to see it before.
