Steam Awards: Horror Title is Game of the Year

Awards, game, Horror, Steam, title, Year

At the end of the year, Valve lets Steam users go to the virtual ballot box to choose the best games of the year in various categories. The winners have now been determined.

Valve has now announced the winners in the individual categories of the 2021 Steam Awards – including Game of the Year. There Valheim, New World, Cyberpunk 2077 and Forza Horizon competed alongside Resident Evil Village – but the horror game from Capcom was ultimately victorious.

The fact that Cyberpunk 2077 was an option here is a bit bizarre, after all, the sci-fi RPG by CD Projekt RED was published in 2020 and not in 2021. However, the game of its time did not appear until December of the year before last, so that could be the reason why Valve put the title up for election now.

That same game from CD Projekt RED won the prize in the storytelling category. Other notable winners include Forza Horizon 5 or Deathloop.
