In Apex Legends there will soon be a new in-game event at the start of the new year. We’ll tell you what to expect in “Dark Depths”.
EA and Respawn have announced a new event for the long-running battle royale Apex Legends with “Dark Depths”. This should already start in the coming week on January 11th. You can then take part in the event until February 1, 2022.
You will definitely be offered a lot, because there will be a new arena map, but also matching cosmetic objects and various lightning events. The features are officially stated as follows:
- New arena map: Habitat – Habitat 4 is one of the smallest islands in the New Antilles archipelago. It has been known as a breeding ground for Leviathans since early IMC research groups surprisingly encountered a large population of Leviathans and established Habitat 4 as the basis for studying the creatures’ behavioral biology. Habitat 4’s terrain, eroded and sculpted over time, includes a large waterfall, as well as the cave and nest, which are in elevated positions in opposite parts of the island. The new map features slide options and quick escape routes so Legends can quickly assist their team when they are separated or outnumbered.
- Blitz-Events – Legends can complete challenges each week to receive a new set of unique prizes and plaques. Classic prices are apex packs, holosprays, skins and more.
- Thematic cosmetic objects – Players can unlock cosmetic items that turn legends into horrors from below. Legendary skins can also be purchased for Ash, Horizon, Lifeline and Fuse.
- Dark Depth Packs – For 400 Apex Coins, players can secure limited-term Dark Depth Packs and unlock cosmetic items, weapon talismans, trackers and more. The pack guarantees the activation of a (not double) thematic dark depth event object, which can also be made with manufacturing metals.
Apex Legends is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Switch and PC (Origin, Steam). You can see a trailer for the new event attached.
