Before there will be another bigger gameplay presentation for Dying Light 2 next week, the guys from Techland have now announced fresh information about the parkour and fighting skills in the survival sequel.
In a few weeks, Dying Light 2: Stay Human will finally be available – and Techland is now increasing the anticipation even further with fresh information. Namely, today the company announced more details about the parkour and fighting skills in the sequel.
So the skill trees of the protagonist in the zombie title were presented in a new video clip:
In addition to new approaches in character development, the new parkour and fighting skills were also discussed:
Every player who takes certain actions receives experience points in two different areas – parkour and combat. Performing traversal actions such as climbing, jumping or jumping is rewarded with a progressive parkour experience bar. The more complicated and skilful the movements you perform, the more experience you can gain. You can collect combat-related experience points in particular through combined attacks, as these are rewarded with a larger number of experience points.
Completing quests is also a quick way to fill the experience bars – both in terms of parkour and combat. In order to unlock new skills and abilities, it is worth investing some time and unlocking new ways of moving and fighting methods in the game.
For example, there is the combat ability “Grasping”, which allows you, with the right timing, to throw opponents aside by using the momentum of your attack. This ability can be combined with “stomp”, with which you can kill the enemy on the ground on the spot. There are many possible combinations between all skills, which you can choose depending on your play style.
Of course, there are also many possible combinations with the parkour skills: “Dart”, for example, is a skill that temporarily increases the running speed. If you combine this with Double Jump, a skill that enables higher jumps over obstacles, previously inaccessible places can be climbed.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be available on February 4th, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and Switch (via cloud).
