Thirty-four years after the original Top Gun, Tom Cruise returns to the role of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.
New TV location for Top Gun: Maverick released during Super Bowl 54, it's thicker and tougher than the first full-size trailer, with a lot of overload. Don't get us wrong – the planes are still nice and intimate and maybe even go their own way! But while the airplanes are flying, someone – perhaps Maverick – is struggling to breathe, while various voices put up staggering stats.
In addition to replacing Crise from the original, Val Kilmer returns to the realm of Admiral Tom “Iceman” Kazansky. The new generation of pilots includes Miles Teller as “Rooster,” the son of Marverick’s best friend “Goose”; Monica Barbaro as "Phoenix"; Jay Ellis as “Payback”; and Danny Ramirez as “Fanboy.” Jennifer Connelly also stars as Maverick's love interest.
Top Gun: Maverick hits theaters on June 26 in both traditional and IMAX ways.
