The fantastical becomes free and adds a subscription model to get the most out of it

Wonderful

Depending on how old our calendar is and how much we need it, it's likely that the native iOS app will go down. When searching Alternatives for the iOS Calendar app, the options are roughly reduced to two: Fantastical and Calendars.

In a move that does nothing but follow the trend of developers moving to subscriptions, the fantastical has just been updated which provides this way of making money, but not only as it also happens to offer a free version, an option I haven't offered yet.

But in addition, the app is now everywhere, so you won't need to download a separate iPhone or iPad app, yet, but still, all at registration costs. The fantastical first came to the Mac, then to the iPhone and finally to the IPP with iOS 7 and a new design, a design that has come to the Mac recently.

Each edition has received free 2 year updates, but it seems that the time has come to use the subscription capability to save the app. The guys behind Fantastical, Flexibits, say there will be many new updates in the future.

Some of limitations provided by Fantastical in the free version they are:

  • We do not have access to the task list.
  • The Apple Watch app is also unavailable.
  • We have access to the weather for the next three days through AccuWeather.

Flexibits offers two ways to sign up, which is the year that offers the best price including a 33% discount If we want to pay for a year subscription, the price is 43.99 euros, but if we want to pay monthly, the final price is 5.49 euros. This subscription allows us to enjoy the fantastical of both iPhone, iPad and Mac.
