A statement recently caused some displeasure, according to which you can expect a playing time of no less than 500 hours in Dying Light 2. Techland is therefore now clarifying this with further facts.

It was recently announced on the official Twitter account that completing Dying Light 2: Stay Human in full should take 500 hours of play – at least if you master all main and side missions and explore virtually every corner of the game world. Since that has caused some confusion, developer Techland is now clarifying various things about the game time.

It is now said that a focused run through the main story of Dying Light 2 can be completed in about 20 hours. Depending on the skill level, the playing time can also be slightly above or below. If you also want to tackle all the side quests and delve deeper into the backstory of the world and deal with all the characters, you can easily achieve a playing time of 80 hours or more, according to Techland. For comparison: In the first Dying Light, players spent an average of 30 hours completing the main and side quests, but many gamers also invested hundreds of hours in the title.

So how does the value of around 500 hours of play come about? The statement results from internal QA tests of the sequel and assumes that you have then really seen everything the game has to offer. You have then found every collectible, closely followed every dialogue and found every Easter egg. In addition, the players have usually seen every possible ending and visited every corner of the world.

After the release, more content will follow for the game; a corresponding roadmap for this is already being planned and will be published in the coming weeks. Dying Light 2: Stay Human will be released on February 4, 2022 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and Switch (Cloud).
