Apple Pay will arrive in Peru supported by Interbank!
Apple started this 2022 by adding more countries to the list of those that accept its mobile payment platform. According to several recently leaked videos, it has been confirmed the arrival of Apple Pay in Peru, via Interbank.
On the official Peru-based bank Interbank page, information about Apple’s own payment service was published and videos were shared on how to add a card through Apple Wallet. However, shortly thereafter, the information was removed from the site.
Apple Pay arrives in Peru with Interbank
This leak was the key to confirming that everything is ready for the arrival of Apple Pay in Peru, which will join Brazil and Colombia, as countries officially accepting Apple Pay in South America. Since then and as can be seen in the videos while they were available only Visa cards are available with Interbank, and customers can take advantage of this feature with any iPhone with Touch ID or Face ID, as well as with Apple Watch Series 1 or later.
In November, Apple Pay added Costa Rica, Colombia, and Azerbaijan as part of its expansion. In these countries, unlike Peru, several banks have started to support the payment system at the same time, where until now, only Interbank seems the only one confirmed to provide Apple Pay support.
With the addition of a new Latin American country, We think that this Apple 2022 could finally specify the arrival of Apple Pay in Chile, where after so many rumors and some users could add Banco de Chile and Banco Edwards cards, this possibility has been eliminated.
