It’s been 2022 for a few days now, and as we start to cut back on Christmas polvorones and excess, we need to look at the schedule of upcoming releases. It is true that we have a huge year ahead, with Starfield on the horizon, but 2022 is shaping up to be a big year in terms of new titles.
New games that the Xbox team wanted to review, leaving us with a list of those games that we can expect, yes or yes, in this new solar cycle. Spoiler: what a year awaits us.

As seen in Xbox wire, the Redmonds have interviewed several members of their team to tell us which titles they expect the most. Of course, there are titles to suit everyone, from Starfield to indies like Tunic. And many of them, of course, will be releasing on Xbox Game Pass, both consoles and PC.
Sarah Bond – Somerville (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Windows PC, Day One to Game Pass)

The boss of 343 industries, in charge of the Halo franchise and the recent Halo Infinite, has chosen Starfield, the new game from Bethesda, as his most anticipated title. Additionally, he states that “he can’t wait to escape to this new sci-fi universe and explore whatever they bring to life with Starfield.”
Malik Prince – Redfall (Xbox Series X | S y PC – Xbox Game Pass)
For the head of relations with content creators, Malik Prince, Redfall is the most anticipated game of this 2022. The new Arkane captivated him from the first trailer released at E3 2021. Not in vain, Redfall “him makes the days count until its launch at the end of the year ”.
Larry Hryb – Slime Rancher 2 (Xbox Series X | S y PC – Xbox Game Pass)
Good ol ‘Larry Hryb, one of the most recognized and visible faces in the Xbox division, has as his most anticipated game Slime Rancher 2, the sequel to the hit slime collecting game. Additionally, as he mentions, the title will arrive on day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Mary McGuane – Tunic (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One & PC)
One of the games most anticipated by many for many years will finally arrive in 2022. In March we can enjoy Tunic and how many of us, for McGuane, head of studio at Xbox Game Studios, will have a special time when he can finally enjoy a game that “stole my heart at E3 2018”.
Craig Duncan – Marvel Midnight Suns (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and PC)
The boss of Rare not only tells us that we will have news from Sea of Thieves, but also that he is regaling us with Midnight Suns, the new title from the creators of XCOM based on the Marvel license. And, like many, Craig “likes the help with choosing the character roster, as well as the art style.”
Matt Percy – Atomic Heart (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC – Xbox Game Pass)
Xbox’s head of business planning has his sights set on one of 2022’s most anticipated indies. Unsurprisingly, Matt, like many, is pinning his hopes on Atomic Hearts, a game that “can’t wait to play and to experience it firsthand ”.
Jason Ronald – Gotham Knights (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC)
The Batman universe will expand this year with Gotham Knights, the most recent from WB Montreal. And Ronald, the director of the Xbox platform, “can’t wait to see the studio further expand” the DC universe with four new characters. And who doesn’t, Ronald?
Ashley McKissick – Rainbow Six Extraction (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC – Xbox Game Pass)
Rainbow Six Extraction will be the first big release of 2022 and Ubisoft’s first big title for this year. A co-op title that will come straight to Xbox Game Pass and that many of us hope to play with our friends and family, like executive vice president of gaming experiences engineering Ashley, who wants to take advantage of the inertia of enjoy The Division 2 to play this new PVE with her husband and son.
Josh Stein – Destiny 2: La Reina Bruja (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC)
For Josh Stein, head of Xbox social networks, the game he wants to enjoy the most on the platform is the new expansion Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. And the point is, all he wants is to continue “managing my own Glaive in combat.”
Megan Spurr – A Plague Tale: Requiem (Xbox Series X | S y PC – Xbox Game Pass)

Aaron Greenberg – Starfield (Xbox Series X | S y PC – Xbox Game Pass)
For the CEO of Gaming Marketing and one of the best-known faces of the division, Starfield is his most anticipated game. Unsurprisingly, it’s not every year that we witness the “first new universe in 25 years of Bethesda’s most talented minds.”
Tom Mahoney – LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One & PC)
Like many, Star Wars was part of Tom’s childhood. Plus, he’s a LEGO lover, as he made it clear that this title was the “perfect way to convey my love for Star Wars to the Young Railings” and hence his most anticipated game couldn’t be another title. .
Brian Fargo – STALKER 2 (Xbox Series X | S y PC – Xbox Game Pass)
For the boss of InXile, the new STALKER 2 is his weakness for this 2022. Unsurprisingly, he admits to having always had a “particular weakness for post-apocalyptic adventures”, so his choice is not surprising.
Jeff Rubenstein – Saints Row (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC)
Saints Row will be returning through the front door this year and will once again offer us great moments and scenes of genuine madness. And like many of us, the director of new platforms is ready to “do anything with the new Saint Row”.
Will Turtle – Elden Ring (Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC)
The editor of Xbox Wire is very clear: Elden Ring is his most anticipated game. And as it has done with other FromSoftware titles before, it hopes to outperform this game on several occasions. And as he says, “there’s hardly anything that appeals to me more than an open world of FromSoftware.”
