There are times when you need to relax or distract yourself for a while with a mobile game, but just at this moment you have no game installed on your mobile. Finding and installing an interesting game is a good option, but if you are looking for something faster and without installing anything, the good news is that you already have several games on your Android mobile.
We called them emergency games: small games integrated into various Android applications which you can have on your mobile and which in many cases do not even need an internet connection. And that’s it, sometimes it’s time to play Genshin Impact, and other times it’s enough with Dino Run.
DinoRun on Google Chrome
Dino Run is the popular dinosaur mini-game built into Google Chrome that appears when you no longer have an internet connection. To play you must tap on the dinosaur that appears above the error message, although you can also access it when you are logged in, by going to chrome://dino/
.
The objective of Dino Run is simple: jump cacti you find along the way and beat your maximum score. To jump, on mobile, you need to touch your finger anywhere on the screen.
Google’s jumping cloud
Much like Google Chrome, the Google app has its own mini-game that pops up when you lose internet connection. It is Flappy Bird clone in which you take control of a jumping cloud that must avoid the birds that are in the way.
This mini-game can be accessed when you search the Google app and there is no internet connection, in which case a cloud icon is displayed in the error message. Of course, this must be a time when you’ve been without an internet connection, because if you just turn on airplane mode, the error is different and the minigame doesn’t appear.
Hot Air Balloon on Google Play
One of the latest easter egg-shaped mini-games that Google has introduced into its apps is hot air balloon, on Google Play. Like the previous two, this mini-game appears when you run out of internet connection, on Google Play, although it is not yet active for all users.
The concept of the game is similar to the previous two minigames. You control a balloon that goes up without stopping, and you have to move it by sliding sideways to dodge spiked platforms, while collecting coins.
Android Easter egg
If you have an Android mobile, you have an easter egg. Depending on the version of Android you have, you will get a different Easter egg. Those of the latest versions of Android are a little more incomprehensible (Android 11 is a kitty collection game and Android 10 is a nonogram), but in an emergency, any game is welcome.
The mini-game in question varies, but the way to activate it is almost always the same: go to the System Information section of the settings and repeatedly press the android version. This will display the logo for that version of Android, which you’ll need to tap multiple times to open the minigame.
Built-in games from Google Play Games
If you are looking for something a bit more elaborate, in Google Play Games, an application that you probably already have installed on your mobile, you have a good collection of mini games like the loner, PAC-MAN, snake or minesweeper.
You will find them in the Home tab, under the heading Built-in Google games. The best thing is that these games don’t need an internet connection and are already mobile ready, which is great for emergencies. If you have an internet connection, you will find many other instant games on Google Play Games, which require an internet connection to access (but they do not install on mobile).
Bonus: telegram games
Telegram is another way to access a good collection of simple games. The messaging app supports for a long time HTML5 mini-games and you can find them on specific channels like @gamee.
To use them you will need to be connected to the internet, although playing any of these games is as easy as picking one up and starting to play, no need to download or install anything on mobile. The list of games is varied, although most of them are simple casual games.
Bonus: Facebook Games
A similar offer is that of Facebook. In the Facebook Games section, accessible from the ☰ menu, you will see a list of instant games that you can enjoy without installing anything, as well as many other things. To see the list of games, click on Player, in the top bar.
The list of Facebook games is quite long and is cataloged by categories, so it will be easy for you to find card games, construction, puzzle and any other specific type that you can use without installing anything, from Facebook.
