The offer of “true wireless” headphones is constantly expanding and manufacturers are increasingly offering us more affordable models with more advanced features. UGREEN’s HiTune X6 are a good example, with great autonomy, active noise cancellation and more than adequate sound for less than 60$.
Characteristics
We are dealing with headphones that cost less than $ 60, this is something that must always be borne in mind in this analysis, and not because with this price deficiencies are justified, but rather the opposite , because there are things about these headphones that really surprise for the price they have. Its full features are as follows:
- Bluetooth 5.1 with multiple memory registers but only supporting one connection
- IPX5 (pressure water resistance) They cannot be submerged but nothing will happen because they receive a little rain or water splashes
- 10mm dynamic driver
- Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): 35dB
- 6 microphones (3 in each earphone)
- Autonomy up to 6 hours (5 hours with ANC active). 26 hours in total with charging case
- USB-C charging case.
- Touch controls (playback, volume, noise cancellation)
The HiTune X6 are in-ear headphones, with silicone plugs that are inserted into the ears to achieve passive noise isolation. With this, they not only reduce outside noise, but also allow the headphones to fit well in the ears. Pairing with your iPhone, iPad or Mac is simple, you just need to access the Bluetooth settings menu and select them. Although they can be associated with multiple devices, you can only connect to one device at a time. By default it will always connect to the last one, and to connect it to another it is necessary to deactivate the Bluetooth of the first one or that it is not within its range.
The connection is very stable, with no interference or connection dropouts. Using it with video games I haven’t noticed any lag that bothers me, and there’s a good response to commands, with no appreciable lag between command and response on your mobile. Touch controls are located on the entire external surface of the headset. I have to admit I’m more of the physical controls, and I had to get used to those touch controls, although once I got used to them the response is good. At first I had a problem with them because I was doing the same gesture as with the AirPods (tap) and that’s not the gesture these HiTune X6s respond to, just tap them.
The controls you have are the classics playback controls, noise canceling activation and volume control, along with the obvious commands to answer or hang up a call, and activate the virtual assistant. There are still not many TWS headphones that include volume control among their options, and it is appreciated that some headphones in this range also include it.
Regarding the comfort of the headphones, I must say that they do not cause fatigue. They are intra-auricular, and we already know what that means: we have this feeling of plug in the ears which is annoying at first but we quickly get used to it. They don’t hurt, you can wear them for hours. in difficulty, and they do not fall off with head movements, even when exercising. These are all-terrain headphones that meet in all circumstances.
Sound quality
Let’s make one more thing clear: we are dealing with True Wireless headphones under 60 $, and therefore the judgment on the sound quality cannot be made by comparing it to other rivals like the AirPods Pro, Jabra Elite 7 or other “Top” models. “. If I compare them with these headphones, the True Wireless models with ANC, they obviously lose. Corn If I compare them with headphones I’ve tried in the 100$ range, I must say that I don’t notice much difference. The sound is balanced, with no speechless bass, yes, but behaves quite decently more typical of headphones at $100 or more.
The noise cancellation is also not comparable to other much more expensive models. Between the passive cancellation offered by the silicone plugs and the active noise cancellation, we can say that you can listen to music in noisy places without having to turn up the volume to annoying levels. Active cancellation is noticeable, it reduces noise a bit, but it does not reach the level of the most famous models from Apple, Jabra or Sony. Activating the cancellation means changing the sound you hear, the difference is noticeable, the change is not significant, but it is noticeable.
The other part of the sound quality that matters in these headphones is that of calls. You listen well to whoever calls you, and he listens to you well. I’ve tested on the street, in traffic, or at home with noise from kids and the TV, and I’ve been able to have conversations without the other person complaining that there’s too much noise. noise, so the test passed.
Editor’s review
If someone had recently told me to recommend headphones under $60 with active noise cancellation and good battery life, I think I would have told them to forget it. These UGREEN Hitune X6 do their job very well, without any quality in which they stand out too much, but with a fairly good pass in all areas: autonomy, sound quality, noise cancellation and comfort. And we cannot forget its price. You can buy them on Amazon for 59 $ (link).
