Mohammad Alavi, Creative Director, Respawn Entertainment Announced on Twitter this week He left the studio.
Alavi started his career at Infinity Ward before moving to Respawn Entertainment where he worked for 11 years. The latest project Alavi has been involved in is the third game the studio is currently working on, and development will continue despite Alavi losing his creative director position.
Secret Games, as reported last year, is still in its early stages, when the team was said to be small. News of the project came via a tweet from Respawn programmer Steven Kah Hien Wong, who noted that the studio was hiring a coder.
Respawn boss Vince Zampella retweeted the tweet, saying the new project is “super exciting stuff.”
As a new IP, that means it’s not a sequel to the new Titanfall game or Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Further details of the new project are unclear, but VentureBeat has heard that the game is a first-person shooter with “AAA ambitions,” “mobility,” and “style.” Expected to be released in 2024 or 2025.
Respawn is currently busy with Apex Legends and is gearing up to launch the game’s 12th season. No date has been provided for the next season, but it is speculated to start around February 8.
