The Switch is expected to have a very exciting year in 2022, so apart from offerings like Zelda, what else is there to anticipate?
One rumour that seems to be gaining traction online is the idea that Persona 4 Golden (an enhanced version of the original PlayStation 2 title) will be released on additional platforms as part of Persona’s 25th anniversary celebrations. The same game got a surprise release on Steam in 2020.
This information comes from the Nate the Hate podcast. Host ‘NateDrake’ confidently throws in one last-minute prediction about Atlus bringing Persona 4 Golden to Switch and PlayStation:
“I think there is a reasonable chance Persona 4 Golden does find its way to Switch in 2022. I think there’s a good chance of that…as we know, for the first half of this year we’re gonna have the Persona 4 fighting game, [and] I think before the anniversary year concludes, Persona 4 Golden is announced for the Switch and PlayStation…I think Persona 4 finally arrives on Switch in 2022.”
The same source – who has previously shared some big news on the Nintendo front – goes on to remind listeners how Atlus has Persona announcements planned all the way up until September 2022 and suggests a reveal like this could be made prior to a “Persona 6” announcement.
P4G’s release on Switch would also make a lot of sense now that the spin-off fighting game Persona 4 Arena Ultimax has been officially confirmed for the platform, which also started out as a rumour.
Note: In a blog post at the end of last year, leaker Zippo (the same source linked with the P4AU rumours) said Persona 4 Golden would come to the Switch in 2022.
