Respawn Entertainment is best known for Titanfall and Apex Legends, but it also wants to cause a sensation with a secret project in the future. But this one has to cope with a setback.
As has now become known, Creative Director Mohammad Alavi is leaving the development studio Repsawn Entertainment. He now gave that himself via Twitter known. After working there for eleven years, the farewell marks “the end of an era” for him.
Before joining Respawn Entertainment, Alavi worked for Infinity Ward. Most recently, he was instrumental in the work on a third, previously unannounced game for the Apex Legends creators of Respawn. The title, about which nothing is known to date, has to accept a setback in this respect, but work on the project should continue regardless of Alavi’s departure.
The secret project was first reported last year 2021; this should still be in an early development phase; it was also said at the time that the responsible team was still quite small. At the time, Respawn programmer Steven Kah Hien Wong confirmed the game’s existence when the studio went looking for another coder for the project.
Studio head Vince Zampella took up the tweet at the time and spoke of a “super exciting thing” in terms of the game. It should be a new IP, so not a new Titanfall and not a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. VentureBeat At the time, however, he wanted to at least find out that it was supposed to be a first-person shooter in AAA format with a high proportion of mobility and style. The release is expected for 2024 or 2025.
