Do you still have Flash on Mac? It is outdated and a security risk, so you can uninstall it

Flash, Mac, outdated, Risk, security, uninstall

We have known for years that the end of the flash was yet to come. Adobe, the company in charge of its development and maintenance, announced at the end of 2018 that it declared its software obsolete. A year ago today, in early 2021, Flash was outdated and security updates ceased, making it a major threat to computers that still have it installed.

A necessary move to ensure the safety of our machines

What was once one of the main network technologies is no longer supported. Some time ago, thanks in part to Steve Jobs’ decision not to include this technology in the iPhone and iPad, we see that Flash Player was used less and less. In reality it’s very likely that many of us don’t even have it on our computers, but it is a good time, with safety in mind, that we revise that this is so. We do like this:

  1. We open a new Finder window on our Mac.
  2. We go to the folder Apps.
  3. We open the file Utilities.
  4. We will run Adobe Flash Player Installation Manager.
  5. we choose uninstall.

As simple as that. With these steps, Flash will disappear completely and the security of our team, in Adobe’s own words, will improve:

Adobe strongly recommends that all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to protect their systems. Some users may continue to receive reminders from Adobe to uninstall Flash Player from their system.

Apple Tried To Get Adobe Flash On iOS, But The Performance It Offered Stopped It Completely

The use of Flash technology, partly due to incompatibility with Apple mobile devices, has long been deprecated and discontinued. The truth is that it was a very relevant technology from which its successors learned a lot. A technology that, for our safety, we must permanently eliminate.
