This time we bring you to Game Pass Monday the wonderful puzzle game called The pedestrian. The title was developed by the small independent studio Arts Skookum. Around the year 2013, the development of this game started thanks to a crazy idea of three friends. This idea was taking shape until what currently makes up the title. Along the way, they used funds through Kickstarter, where they achieved overwhelming success.
We have the game available on Xbox Game Pass since January 4th.. His arrival came by surprise and suddenly. For those who are not subscribed to the Microsoft service, the game is available for download for $ 19.99 on the Microsoft Store.
Walker, there is no path, the path is made by walking
Our character will be the typical doll that appears reflected in the pedestrian traffic lights that can be found in any city. It will come to life and we will move on to management to advance through the various stages. Scrolling will always be lateral, in two dimensions, with some jumps in depth when changing screens.
The actions will be very basic, our character will be able to jump, activate certain mechanisms or stop time. The downtime option will be used to move around the different sign plates or designs and find the best combination. Another of the mechanics seen could remind us of games like Portal. We will join a series of points, either doors or stairs, so that once joined we can appear in the place we have indicated. This function will be basic in the game and will bring us occasional headaches.
Variety of puzzles or puzzles and their difficulty
The riddles or puzzles are the main part of the game, which will make us stop thinking and give our heads a thousand times so that our little character continues to advance in his objective.
Using the mechanics we told you about in the previous point of the analysis, we will have to solve some puzzles. At the beginning of our course, the difficulty does not seem excessive, it even suffers from being quite simple. However, as soon as we meet our first stone on the road, that will be when we will love the game the most.
This difficulty will increase as we progress. We will have screens with puzzles that will be made up of different parts, which will have other screens with their respective puzzles. To keep moving forward, we will need key pieces, or keys, that we can find on other screens. Once we have them, we will have to find a way to combine them in order to keep moving forward.
Our character will have certain points of no return, which are normally already thought out and include a point where we can kill our character and return to the loading point. There is also an additional difficulty. Joining the paths of doors and stairs, once used, we will not be able to stop time and modify these paths again, since our character will return to its starting point.
The variety of puzzles is decent for the duration of the game, however the mechanics might get a bit cumbersome at some point in the game. We will find a total of eight environments or scenes, each with their respective puzzles focused on a new mechanic. Some of them will offer a new twist of difficulty that will make us rethink the new puzzles in a new way.
Neat graphic section and outstanding music
At the graphic level The pedestrian stands out at a glance. We are not talking about graphic omen, but about its artistic section. Although it is developed in two dimensions, the depth offered by the environments and their setting is simply magnificent. The game that exists between the different types of panels and the place where one could find them, gives more realism to the game. You can appreciate the care and good taste they have applied to the game, especially also in the section lighting, especially on screens that run at night or underground.
Regarding the music section, surprising by its quality of being an independent game. All the more surprising that we do not expect such a complete and quality musical section in a puzzle game. Its soundtrack was produced by Logan Hayes. This composer is not known for other episodes, however, given the result obtained in this title, it would not be surprising to see him appear in the credits of another game. His music is a mixture of mysterious and melancholy touches . They accompany our character and us perfectly as we solve the various puzzles, where we will never know what the next room may hold for us.

Final conclusions and personal opinion on The pedestrian
We are facing a two-dimensional puzzle game with a graphic taste that will delight any player who gets their hands on it. Thanks to the subscription Xbox Game Pass, you will have the opportunity to try it. As an added incentive, you have the chance to earn 1000G by overcoming all of your achievements in a very short time.. In my case, it took me 4 hours to overcome it, but for more advanced players it might take less time and for those who can get stuck, the developers calculate around 6 hours.
