Apple’s virtual reality headset, which was due to be officially unveiled in June 2022 during WWDC, appears to be falling behind. We know this.
The information comes from the very serious newspaper Bloomberg. Apple would consider (note the newspaper doesn’t use the condition) delaying the launch of its mixed reality headset by at least a few months, according to sources familiar with the matter. However, Apple declined to comment on the matter, as well as the journalist’s statements.
To infinity and beyond for Apple
We therefore no longer have to wait for the 2022 product, but indeed 2023. This new headset is seen as Apple’s next big release and its gradual introduction would mean opening up a whole new market for the business. This isn’t the first delay seen by the gear, as the Apple company first considered releasing it in… 2021. We suspect the Covid hasn’t really helped.
It’s getting hot
However, an anonymous source points out that these would be technical issues, stating that Apple would have problems with the device overheating. The flaw would be the presence of two processors, one of which would come very close to the M1 Pro of the latest MacBook Pro.
The arrival of the Metaverse and all the excitement that accompanies it is a godsend for Apple, and under the circumstances one could almost understand the reason for a strategic shift. For the recording, the helmet would be equipped with fifteen cameras, eight of which allow to recreate the external environment to improve immersion.
Anyone who has been waiting for Apple’s headphones will have to be very patient. This reprieve, on the other hand, should please your PEL, which you must crack at the right time…
