When it comes to Apple products, rumors abound, from the wildest to the most serious. But when it comes to information from a reputable analyst, something is usually fishy.
In a research note from Haitong International Securities, analyst Jeff Pu was able to talk about his expectations and provide some information on what to expect from Apple’s iPhone 14. Pu said all iPhone 14 models will feature ProMotion screens, which are currently the only iPhone 13s in the Pro lineup.
Better screen and more RAM?
ProMotion screens can display a refresh rate of up to 120Hz for more fluidity. They were introduced by Apple on the iPad Pro before arriving on the iPhone 13 last year. Among the other new features, the analyst also suggests that the entire iPhone 14 range would benefit from more RAM, namely 6GB on board… as is currently the case with the iPhones 13 Pro and Pro Max. CQFD.
The other Apple analyst
Things get complicated when another analyst named Ross Young disputes the on-screen information, stating that the iPhone 15 will have to wait for a generalization of 120Hz across each of the models. As you can see below, a following user is asking if 120Hz will be available on iPhone 14. Young replies that it will likely have to wait until 2023 due to logistics and delivery issues.
Whatever happens, 14 iPhones are expected to be unveiled in September 2022.
