Newskill has put all the meat on the grill with this new keyboard model, and has incorporated many features that are definitely TOP, such as the fact that it has integrated gateron switches hot swappable, i.e. without the need to disconnect the keyboard or turn off the PC. Newskill offers no less than six switch variants for this keyboard, so let’s dive in to see what it has to offer.

As we anticipated earlier, the Gungnyr PRO comes in four different variants: the Full Layout model, a full keyboard, and the TKL model which doesn’t have a number pad to save space. In each of the two models we have the usual black and ivory (white) colors of the brand, constituting the entire range that we can currently find.
From the factory, all models incorporate Gateron Red optomechanical switches, with linear and silent operation, but to complete this family of keyboards, the Spanish company has put on sale six different packs of gateron switches, with which we can customize any of the Gungnyr PRO models thanks to the fact that, as we mentioned, they are compatible with the exchange function and we can easily replace them with each other.
We present below the types of switches available and their technical differences:
Type | task force | trigger point | maximum travel | Behaviour | sound | type of use |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Red | 45±15 grams | 2±0.6mm | 4±0.6mm | Direct | Quiet | game / office |
Blue | 60±15 grams | 2.3±0.6mm | 4±0.6 millimeters | Click | Click | Writer |
Brown | 55±15 grams | 2±0.6mm | 4±0.6mm | Touch | Lightweight | game / office |
Yellow | 35±15 grams | 1±0.1mm | 3.2±0.3mm | Direct | Quiet | Games |
Noir | 60±15 grams | 2±0.6mm | 4±0.6mm | Direct | Lightweight | Games |
White | 35±15 grams | 2±0.6mm | 4±0.6 millimeters | Direct | Quiet | game / office |
The only difference between the Newskill Gungnyr PRO and its TKL variant is precisely that the TKL model does not have a number pad, but otherwise they are exactly the same. For example, both have configurable RGB lighting, macro recording via software, or their new magnetic wrist rest, also with configurable lighting, which will not only make it more comfortable to use the keyboard for long periods of time, but at the same time It will “force” you to keep your wrists in the correct position, thus avoiding fatigue and even pain.
Moreover, being a keyboard with optomechanical switches, they take the best of mechanical and optical switches, highlighting their enormous speed and reduced response time thanks to their activation by laser light. As if that weren’t enough, as we mentioned earlier, all of its keys are interchangeable thanks to the kits that Newskill sells separately.
Price and availability
The Spanish manufacturer Newskill has already launched these new keyboards on the market, which can already be pre-purchased in its online store. The official price is 119.95$ for the Gungnyr PRO Full Layout model and 109.95$ for the Gungnyr PRO TKL model, but at this time and during the pre-purchase period, Newskill has activated an offer with which you can save 10 dollars on the purchase of any of the models, so they remain at 109, $95 and $99.95 respectively.
On the other hand, Gateron optomechanical switch packs are available in the manufacturer’s online store at the price of 12,95$, whether you choose the Red, Brown, Blue, White, Black or Yellow model, and in all cases 20 switches are included per pack.
