Gaming News Blizzard: After the agreement with Microsoft, the studio is already starting a new promising project
You’ve surely heard about the latest big news that has rocked the video gaming world… Microsoft plans to spend nearly $69 billion to acquire American giant Activision-Blizzard. And if the acquisition hasn’t happened yet (the deal typically closes in July 2023), the big projects are already underway.
While former Activision Blizzard are building their own studio with New Tales, Blizzard is looking to the future. If several future projects already announced by the company are eagerly awaited by the players, we are thinking in particular of Overwatch 2 or even Diablo IV, the American studio also seems to have some additional surprises up its sleeve.
A new license from Blizzard
The American studio has just teased its next game by posting job offers on Twitter. In fact, Blizzard is currently looking for one environmental artistone) Senior character artistone) Technical artistone) VFX Artist and a) Senior Concept Artist. But that’s not all, six jobs in design and engineering have also opened their doors. But what is behind these announcements?
All these offers relate to a new production that has not yet announced its name at the moment. According to the tweet that you can contemplate below, it will be a survival game that will move away from the universes already established, namely that of World of Warcraft, but also of Diablo and Overwatch, to reveal a whole new world that it to be explored and a whole new sagas to be discovered.
Blizzard embarks on its next task. We embark on a journey to an all-new universe, home to an all-new survival game for PC and consoles. A place full of heroes that we have yet to meet, but also with stories that have not yet been told and adventures that we have yet to experience. Onto a vast realm of possibilities waiting to be explored. Blizzard, via their official website
What do we know about this next production?
For now, the survival game remains a mystery, but it still revealed two pieces of art (the first above and the second below). Let’s focus on the second, which is much more telling. The latter specifically reveals that Blizzard’s next production will take place in a whimsical world that seems to have blended with our current world. As you can see, in the distance we can see a floating city, which shows that we are dealing with a magical world. But in the foreground are two characters dressed like real townspeople (tracksuit, jeans, backpack…) on rocks. A bicycle is also leaning against a wall to their left. These elements are therefore very close to our reality… So many clues for a single image.
As a reminder, the survival game is expected on PC and consoles. Unfortunately, while it’s easy to imagine Microsoft machines being thrown into the equation, we have no idea if this new license will end up on PlayStation as well. wait, look as the saying goes.
