The Super Mario animated movie cast was unveiled last September and since then, we’ve not heard much from anyone but Chris Pratt (the voice of Mario).
Now, though, in an appearance on the American talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live, Charlie Day – the voice of Luigi – has spoken a little about his own role. When prompted by Kimmel, Charlie mentioned how he goes into a booth records lines by himself and doesn’t really know much about the script at all – it’s that secret.
“I’m playing Luigi, in fact, I just was recording that this morning and I’d love to tell you all about it but they are top secret with that stuff…I know nothing…Mario’s probably in the know, but they don’t tell Luigi anything.”
He went on to joke about how two guys with hammers would break his neck if he did try to tell anyone anything about the upcoming movie animation by Illumination. Here’s the full exchange:
< aside class="object object-youtube">Apart from Charlie Day talking about how secretive the movie is, the movie’s producer has also previously mentioned how phenomenal Chris Pratt’s voice is as the voice of Mario. Pratt himself has said it’s a dream come true and has been “working hard at it”.
Pratt and Day will be joined by an all-star cast featuring Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong.
The Super Mario animated movie will arrive in cinemas this December.
