The time is running: Since December 2021, all characters are allowed in Destiny 2 free on the grandiose Forsakencampaign, but this luxury will soon come to an end. Then the old content will be put on hold and can no longer be played.

This is what awaits you in the Forsaken campaign
How much longer can I play for free? You can play the Forsaken campaign until February 22, 2022 at no additional cost – including Free 2 Play players.
What does Forsaken offer me? For Destiny 2 fans, Forsaken is considered the best multiplayer shooter story campaign to date. Especially emotionally, connoisseurs of the lore are offered a lot here and many important plot details are still relevant today. Especially the role of Uldren Sov (aka crow
) is put in a different light by the events.
But they are not all Forsaken content accessible for free. A few features are also offered in the store as a package, namely the following:
- The Raid
Last wish
- the dungeon
The broken throne
- All exotic weapons that came into play with Forsaken
For example, if you are currently thinking about getting into Destiny 2, you should definitely experience the story of Forsaken in order to be able to have a say (or at least nod knowingly) in the future.

Why is Forsaken getting kicked out of the game in the first place? After February 22nd, the developer Bungie will release the Forsaken campaign into the eternal hunting grounds. According to the studio, the reason for this lies in the complexity of the game code.
As new addon content is released, older content must be replaced to ensure game stability. This causes resentment among the players again and again, since this ultimately means that paid content is no longer accessible.
It remains to be seen whether Forsaken will only be put in the freezer to be reactivated later. Conceivable occasions for such brief comebacks would be special events such as anniversaries.
