After a major postponement, Valve’s eagerly awaited Steam Deck is now officially scheduled for release on February 25th, which is almost exactly three weeks from now. That’s why we asked ourselves how great the interest of GameStar readers in the Half-Life makers’ PC handheld actually is at the moment, and we started a survey.
You actively participated. As of February 2, 10,903 respondents cast their votes. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for this. And the survey evaluation also leads to quite surprising findings.

More than one in five has already pre-ordered the Steam Deck
Compared to the first survey (as of February 2nd: 15,159 participants) from last July, your interest in the Steam Deck has decreased. At that time, around 32 percent stated that they did not even want to buy the PC handheld. Almost 48 percent are now against it.
But even though almost half of you have nothing to do with the Steam Deck, almost 22 percent have already pre-ordered the PC handheld. After all, that is more than one in five respondents!

Overall, it can be said that there are three very clear camps: About every third GameStar reader has already secured the Steam Deck or wants to buy it, provided the first tests are positive or teething troubles have been eliminated. As already mentioned, almost half are clearly against the purchase. One in five survey participants are also still undecided and want to see how the Steam Deck develops.
