WhatsApp message reactions will also be available in the desktop app
In WhatsApp they continue to focus on the offer new functions that allow it to meet the needs of its users.
During the month of January, the app got an update full of new features. Additionally, the ability to listen to audios outside of chat was recently added, allowing the user to listen during another conversation.
But one of the most necessary functions because is already in other messaging services like Microsoft Teams and Telegram are reactions to messages.
The arrival of this function for mobile phones had already been reported, but now it’s confirmed which will also come in its desktop version.
Reactions on whatsapp messages from desktop
WABetaInfo revealed new information which shows that reactions to messages could happen simultaneously on iOS and macOS.
There will be 6 reactions: like, love, laugh, surprise, sad and please-thank you. These will be the same for both platforms and it is not yet known if WhatsApp will implement a default reaction like the “like” on Facebook or the “like” or the “heart” on Instagram.
In order to view the reactions received on Mac, the user will have to review the “all” tab in the message or review them from the same reactions icon next to the message. Just as it should be done on mobile.
The official release date is still unknown, for now only preview is available for users belonging to the Beta program of the application. However, as it is already under development it should arrive very soon.
