Right at launch, Elden Ring surpassed Dark Souls III’s franchise record for concurrent players on Steam by six times.
As from the data from SteamDB reports, the newly released role-playing game Elden Ring reached an impressive 764,000 concurrent active players on Steam within three hours of its release.
This more than clearly overshadowed the previous franchise record of Dark Souls III. This was previously at 129,975 simultaneously active players and was thus almost six times exceeded by Elden Ring.
Dark Souls and Dark Souls II peaked at 24,501 and 79,528 concurrent players, respectively.
Considering that the release of Elden Ring in Europe took place on Thursday night at 12:00 a.m., which may have put some fans off playing immediately, a new record can be expected over the course of the weekend.
Elden Ring is out Friday for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
