Cyberpunk 2077 is getting closer to its release, and while we look forward to this video game, CD Projekt reveals more important details for fans of the title. Some days ago, the company's director has been in an important interview where he has answered many questions, such as that the game will have scenes with sexual violence, and that it is not prepared to be released on Nintendo Switch, although apparently it will not be the only platform where Cyberpunk 2077 will not arrive. In this same interview with OnMSFT, John Mamais has talked about virtual reality answering why the game cannot be developed for that game mode.
The developers have made the decision not to launch Cyberpunk 2077 for virtual reality for a good reason, and adapting the game to this platform is not viable and does not guarantee that many people will play it in virtual reality. Despite that, Mamais states that they tried to create the title for VR, but unfortunately it didn't work Because it has generated problems.
"We tried. We were thinking about virtual reality, but yes, we are not doing anything with virtual reality. We have VR development kits but … Some things would work in virtual reality, but I think it's not really viable yet. You are still not making much money in virtual reality. It is very experimental and niche, yes. I would like. I like virtual reality, but we are still not doing anything with it «.
CD Projekt Red was interested for a moment in virtual reality for its new game, in the development kit that made some parts of Cyberpunk 2077 worked, but it was not totally stable, which does not make it a good option to satisfy the players. For this reason, they have gone the safe way and plan to launch it on platforms that do support all the content that the game has.
Would you have liked Cyberpunk 2077 to go out for virtual reality?
