- The first highlights of the MWC 2022 are here.
- On the eve of the fair, Samsung and Huawei unveiled new products.
- These are laptops, not cell phones.
From February 28 to March 2, the Mobile World Congress, or MWC for short, is taking place in Barcelona again this year. Traditionally, many manufacturers unveil their innovations on the eve of the trade fair – including Samsung and Huawei. Surprisingly, however, both industry giants are not showing new mobile phones, but laptops.
Huawei MateBook E and MatePad Paper
Huawei unveiled a variety of new products at its MWC press conference – from printers to tablets, almost everything was there, just not a new cell phone. From our point of view, one of the highlights was the MateBook E, which is a cheap alternative to the Microsoft Surface Pro.
The MatePad Paper, on the other hand, is a tablet PC with an e-ink display that can also function as an e-reader. Unlike the MateBook E, the unusual device will not appear in Germany for the time being.
Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro and Pro 360
Samsung also refrained from presenting new cell phones at its MWC Unpacked event, instead the South Korean manufacturer presented the GalaxyBook 2 Pro and Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360. The two Windows 11 laptops should be sustainable and particularly secure.
Further highlights are expected on February 28th. Then there should also be new cell phones to see. Honor and Poco as well as Realme, among others, have announced press conferences for the first day of the fair.
