After the publication of Anstoss 2022 was postponed indefinitely at the beginning of last year, the development was not under a good star: publisher Kalypso Media left the project, developer 2tainment was left to its own devices from then on.

Many backers of the Kickstarter campaign were worried that the game would not appear at all under these circumstances. After many fans had to wait a long time for new information and pictures, there is now a new sign of life from the missing football manager. A lot has happened behind the scenes in recent months: With Toplitz Productions, a new co-publisher has been won who has already gained a lot of experience in the management and simulation genre with titles such as Medieval Dynasty and Farmers’ Dynasty.
This is what awaits you in kick-off 2022: Anyone who has played the legendary Anstoss 3 can roughly imagine what gameplay the developers are aiming for with the sequel. You take on the role of the club boss and take care of all aspects of your club – from transfers and tactics to finances and the development of the club grounds. Whether you want to play through a season in a few hours or micromanage every little detail is up to you.

Kick-off 2022: A football manager like before, but not old-fashioned
2tainment and Toplitz once again emphasized the following features in their latest press release:
- The tactics engine should combine classic management gameplay and the latest developments, methods and rule changes in modern football – VAR (video referee) included.
- With the heatmap you can analyze and evaluate both the performance of the team and that of the individual players. You can read the effects of your decisions directly here.
- Scouting and data analysis are said to be key to the long-term success of any club. By building a worldwide network, you will discover the best new talent.
- Each player has dozens of skills and a variety of character traits that affect their development and playstyle.
- Your character’s abilities as a trainer and manager are enhanced through an extensive skill tree that gives you more options and opportunities for specialization.
- With the new multiplayer you can play online with up to eight managers.
- The user interface aims to be particularly simple and intuitive with a clear and efficient menu structure.
- Mascot Pallino is at your side with help and advice.
According to a comment by the developers on Kickstarter, the release definitely take place this year. However, a specific date for the publication of Anstoss 2022 is still a long way off. In any case, fans of Europe football managers and their business focus will have to wait a while until the time-honored kick-off series officially returns to the PC.
