Game news Forspoken: A possible unpleasant surprise for the Square Enix game?
Forspoken is Square-Enix’s next big thing, but it still has a long way to go. If only because we haven’t seen much yet, but also because it would be delayed, said a third party.
I have spoken (for).
Announced some time ago as Project Athia, Forspoken is one of Square Enix’s big games planned for this year. It’s notably being developed by Luminous Productions, a division of the company that spearheads the Luminous Engine, a brand new engine designed to make the most of new technologies. (including that of the PlayStation 5, on which the game is planned exclusively with the name “console”.) In short, quite an interesting site.
Only here, according to AccountNGT, a well-known netizen who asserts “according to a source” that the title will be postponed, it could well be delayed. Additionally, the person states that the announcement could come during a potential State of Play/PlayStation Showcase scheduled for this month. An unannounced event that the insider pointed out later than yesterday, even spurring the return of two iconic franchises… and he seemed sure of his chance.

Obviously the tweezers are in order: at the moment, Square Enix has confirmed absolutely nothing. Next to, Forspoken is yet to be released on May 24th, a date that’s getting dangerously close while communications surrounding the title aren’t exactly talkative.
However, the last time we heard about the game was the ESRB rating (the equivalent of our PEGI in North America), which is often done as development nears completion. Of course, that doesn’t stop decision makers (Square Enix here) from procrastinating if they think it’s necessary.
We remember that the title puts us in the shoes of Fery Holland, who is teleported from the modern world to another, magical and awe-inspiring world where a magic bracelet helps her. An epic and eventful adventure, punctuated by monsters and more or less crazy individuals who will try to thwart you.
In short, while you wait for more information, we always meet on May 24th on PC and PS5 only.
