The Coalition, the studio behind the Gears of War series, will lose its head Rod Fergusson in March. In the new month, he will start a new job at Blizzard to oversee the Diablo franchise. Fergusson has worked for the studio for the past 15 years, now it's time for a new adventure. His most recent projects were the mobile spin-off Gears Pop !, Gears 5 and the strategy spin-off Gears Tactics, which was released in April.

Fergusson joins Blizzard at a crucial stage. The company has been the focus of several controversies in recent years and is currently not in a good light due to the disappointing implementation of Warcraft 3: Reforged. The most important projects that the Coalition graduate can expect at Blizzard will be the mobile offshoot Diablo Immortal and of course Diablo IV.

It is the second important person to join Blizzard in less time. Mike Ybarra switched from Xbox just a few months ago.
