The Magic Keyboard would have the ability to run MacOS, according to this newly published patent.
Apple currently offers a line of Macs that hasn’t changed over the years, with names like MacBook, iMac, or even the Mac Mini. This line is what worked for the company, although there are patents that suggest the company could add a new Mac, but not in the way you imagine.
Companies often file patents for products that are functional, but futuristic and wacky. We will now show you the patent for a keyboard with macOS installed
The patent for an entire Mac in a keyboard
The United States Patent Office has published a new patent filed for the Apple brand. It would be a Magic Keyboard with an innovation very crazy: there would be MacOS inside, that is, it would be an entire Mac.
The 9to5Mac website has reported that it will be a new concept that it would be a hybrid between a computer and a laptop. The keyboard would contain all the components of a Mac inside, so you could take the computer anywhere, be it school or work.
How would that work? The patent makes it quite simple: you would connect the keyboard to any monitor or panel using an I/O, USB-C or Thunderbolt port. When you turn on and set up the Magic Keyboard, it will show you macOS for you to work quickly, just like today’s computers.
How would the keyboard be built with Mac?
The keyboard with a Mac would be built differently from the Magic Keyboard you know. The patent shows that the keyboard would have a special design to offer ventilation to internal components, such as the M1 chip, RAM, or even a graphics card.
This keyboard would have a tactile zone to prevent the user from using the Magic Mouse in a compulsory way. Additionally, the patent shows a pair of USB-C ports and the 3.5mm headphone jack, which would complete your setup.
The new computer would be a new version of the Mac Mini M1, which would be sold as a complete device, with a Magic Keyboard and a Trackpad area, but with compatibility with all the company’s devices. The bad news is that this is a recently issued patent, so the versions, the departure date and prices are far from knownor we may not even see it for sale.
