You might want to be careful about being hugged by the lady in the Elden Ring

careful, Elden, hugged, Lady, Ring

everything is not as it seems Eldon Ring, Yes? Just when you think you’re in a safe place – a sanctuary, if you will – the game also has a little trick to get you dirty.

If you’ve invested a little time in Elden Ring, at this point you might come across Fia, the Deathbed Companion. This seemingly amiable woman will hold you in her arms and give you a small hug if this desolate world is a little too much for you. You’re 100% sure you’ll meet Fia after a grueling duel with Margit the Fallen Omen, but you’ve probably met her by chance before.

But be careful. guard against! Once you’ve visited the Roundtable – an area in the heart of a safe zone home to merchants, blacksmiths, and Fia himself – you’re likely to leave with more than you expected.

If you hug the Maiden, you’ll get Baldachin’s Blessing, a consumable that uses FP to temporarily increase Poise. She may seduce you with her rhetoric—”Great champ, can you give me a hug, but for a short time?”—but you actually get a little debuff after this rare tender moment .

Accepting Fia’s Embrace will result in a 5% loss of your total Vitality, represented by a red square icon with a downward arrow below your character sheet.

That doesn’t sound like much, but when you think about the fact that you survived a fight with just a little health left, it could change your odds in a fight.

Don’t worry too much; this debuff can be removed by using Baldachin’s Blessing. So you just have to figure out when it’s best to hit your FP to remove the buff. It’s also worth noting that you may need to hug her at some point as part of the mission – so it’s nice to know what you’re getting yourself involved for.

If you’re reading this and thinking “Pfft, I knew that!” then good for you!but from quantity of people On Twitter and Reddit, not knowing you got a debuff from Fia, we thought we’d do some public service and let the world know.

That’s why we can’t have good stuff, can we?
