We get an interesting message related to one of the most outstanding games in the Nintendo Switch catalog. We are talking in this case about Super Smash Bros Ultimate and its absence at EVO 2022.
Absence of Super Smash Bros in the EVO
In the text below, former Nintendo Minute members Kit and Krysta share why they think Nintendo has taken this decision to remove the game from the event:
According to them, the possible reasons for Nintendo to get rid of the EVO are three. First, Sony bought the rights to the Evo brand not too long ago, which Nintendo might see as a conflict of interest and a relationship they are unwilling to foster. Second, the fan-driven competitive Smash scene has been mired in a number of high-profile scandals over the years, and Nintendo no doubt wants to stay away from them. Third, Nintendo has already announced plans for a Smash Bros. tournament through a partnership with Panda Global.
