You actually pay money for streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Apple+ in order to be able to watch certain films and TV series on demand without advertising. Disney Plus could change that in the future – at least if a cheaper subscription model is used.
A report from TheInformation (via 9toMac) According to Disney, they are thinking about offering such a subscription model. However, many questions remain unanswered in this regard. For example, whether a cheaper version of Disney Plus with advertising would even start in Europey.

Disney Plus… but with ads?
As already mentioned, those responsible at Disney Plus are currently discussing offering a cheaper variant of Disney Plus, which then comes with advertisements. This should not change anything about the regular subscription model, instead interested users would have the choice between the two variants.
However, that’s not done yet. It remains to be seen whether the idea will actually be implemented. It would then also be questionable whether this concept will be implemented at all for the international area and thus also for Europey. In the USA, for example, there are streaming services such as Peacock, Paramount+ or Hulu that already offer subscriptions with advertising. The public there is already used to such offers.
Is Disney Plus too expensive? In Europey, a monthly subscription currently costs nine dollars and an annual subscription 90 dollars. In the US, the pricing model is relatively similar at $8 a month and $80 a month. However, there is an important difference in the United States: all Stars content is missing from the users there.
So if you subscribe to Disney Plus in the US, you have only
Access to, for example, all new Marvel and Star Wars productions, such as Moon Knight or The Mandalorian. So it cannot be ruled out that the promotional version of Disney Plus was specifically designed for this market.
