Age of Empires 4 got off to a furious start and was voted the best game of 2021 by you, but now there is a hangover: the Steam player numbers are below those of AoE 2: Definitive Edition and well-known figures such as streamer Hera have Age 4 turned his back.
For His Majesty Maurice “the First” Weber, this is an intolerable situation! Ergo, he gathers his Age 4 round table in the podcast to discuss the state of this game:
- Marco Giesel can pray down the build order for a knight rush half asleep and once had the cult format for the Rocketbeans »Rage of Empires« founded.
- Niklas »Honor« Behrens from Be seen is a former Starcraft 2 professional and has also fought his way up the e-sports rankings in Age of Empires 4 – right up to the top 50 of the world’s best players! But in the meantime he has stopped with AoE 4 again.
Together, the three Age experts talk about the community’s frustration and the strange passivity of the developers, who have reacted extremely sluggishly to feedback and serious balancing problems. The fact that they released a concrete roadmap shortly after recording this podcast is just a drop in the bucket.
So can Age of Empires 4 still be saved, or is the former real-time hopeful dying? You can hear it on the podcast!
