We haven’t heard from Sly Cooper in years. Developed by Sucker Punch and continued by Sanzaru Games, the last installment in the series was released in 2013. Now there are increasing signs of a return.
On PS2 and PS3, the Sly series about the thieving raccoon Sly Cooper was quite a success, if not quite as spectacular as Ratchet & Clank. After three parts, however, Sucker Punch turned to other things like Infamous or Ghost of Tsushima. After the release of the Sly trilogy, the fourth part was Sly Cooper: Chase through time by Sanzaru Games – but that was a damn long time ago, namely 2013.
Now, however, there are signs that Sly could go on a thieving spree again. The domain entry slycooper.com owned by Sucker Punch received an update of some kind on March 4th after a long time. The first rumors are also appearing on Twitter, according to which both a new Sly Cooper and another Infamous are in development. According to AccountNGT account sources, the new Sly game is set to be announced in the second half of the year, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the series.
Of course, there are no official confirmations and until then the information should be treated with caution. However, it would not be completely unbelievable, especially since with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart another Playstation platformer was quite successful on the PS5.
