Jon ‘Boog’ Sciambi and Chris Singleton join the game as new play-by-play and color commentary voices MLB The Show 22.
To the MLB The Show 22, the San Diego Studio team has been hard at work overhauling one of the core components and features of the gaming experience, an all-new commentary system and broadcast team featuring Jon ‘Boog’ Sciambi and Chris Singleton for the first time in The Show’s Story. Here is a look behind the scenes:
- 128 separate recording sessions took place, totaling 350 hours of recording and approximately 45,000 lines of audio. No wonder Boog and Singy cloned each other in the video with Coach!
- Commentary systems have been redesigned for several key categories including game intros, home run calls, post game analysis and more.
- A new conversation system has been implemented, allowing for more natural banter between commentators and seamlessly integrating with the live action of each game. Boog and Singy recorded many of their lines together to bring this feature to life.
- Audio stitching improvements increase the variety of both play-by-play calls and color commentary, and improve player name integration. An expanded dynamic range of play-by-play calls has also been implemented to cater to the excitement of every moment.
- Content sourced from both actual MLB broadcasts and MLB The Show commentary results in a curated experience unique to each player.
Jon ‘Boog’ Sciambi and Chris Singleton have had distinguished careers as MLB broadcasters, with over a decade of combined calling game experience, and we’re excited to bring their talents to the table MLB The Show 22 to create an even more authentic gaming experience.
