Closed alpha testing for Overwatch 2 PvP begins today in select regions, including Blizzard employees, Overwatch League pros, and a select group of other groups to help prepare for the wider beta.
Then in late April, the first PvP beta will be available for PC in select regions. This closed beta will include more testers who will be asked to provide feedback on the game. The goal of this phase is to test new features, content, and systems, and then move on to stress testing servers with a wider player base in future tests.
The first PvP Beta will include 5v5, new hero Sojourn, four new maps, new push mode, hero rework and a new Ping system.
Interested players can now register on the game’s official website to request access to Overwatch 2 PvP Beta 1. Players will gain access in stages, and more content will be added in the upcoming beta phase.
In addition to beta testing, Blizzard has also announced that it will be changing its release strategy by separating the PvP and PvE experiences from each other. This will get new PvP content into your hands faster, while the team remains committed to PvE.
