The price of electricity (and gasoline) has always been one of the main concerns of citizens not only in Europe, but in half the world. This is all the more important as current events, such as the war between Ukraine and Russia, have made gas from the country led by Vladimir Putin more expensive.
This is why more and more people are opting for self-consumption installations, but this is not always possible. Moreover, even if this is the case, it never hurts to look at which other distributor we could pay less.
How to compare different electricity tariffs in an easy way
On the Internet there are many web pages that allow us to enter our data to calculate more affordable offers and prices, but the best way to do this, and the fastest, is on your electricity bill.
The vast majority of users have a personalized QR code on your paper or PDF invoice which helps us to go to the site of the CNMC (National Markets and Competition Commission).
The best thing is that this code is custom so that when we scan it we will come to a web page in which it will appear the average cost that we make in our house as well as the one that we would have paid in different companies.
To scan this QR code we can use any application, although we always recommend Google Lens. It’s as simple as following these steps.
- Locate an invoice (paper or digital).
- Look for the QR code at the end.
- Open Google Lens.
- Scan the code.
- Open the web page that the application shows us.
- Compare offers.
Once in the offers page, we will see that the first line, marked with a (1) and the red arrow, is that of our consumption.
If we click with our eye on the different icons, marked with a (2), we will see in a little more detail what our rate would look like with another marketer.
Keep in mind that prices can vary from year to year, so there is a tab where you can check this, in addition to the characteristics of each tariff.
If we are interested in one in particular, we already know that we must call on the contracting service of the marketer that interests us.
In the event that the QR code does not appear on our invoice, we can go to the CNMV website and fill in all the necessary data, although it will be a much longer and more complex process.
