The automatic adjustment of the streaming quality sometimes works incorrectly on the Google Chromecast. We’ll show you how to set the quality on the Chromecast.
Streaming quality is critical, especially on slow internet connections, to achieve a comfortable viewing experience. Sometimes the app estimates the Internet speed to be too high – this leads to unpleasant loading times. If the streaming quality is too low, you will not get the full television experience despite sufficiently fast internet. Luckily, it’s also easy to change the playback quality on the Google Chromecast.
The procedure is no different than if you want to set the streaming quality for playback on the smartphone. Using YouTube as an example, we show you how you can change the playback quality on the Chromecast.
If you have set the playback quality on the smartphone, it will be automatically adjusted on the Chromecast. You’ll have to repeat the step for each new rendition, even if it’s playing in the same app.
If playback continues to cause problems despite adjustments, resetting the Google Chromecast can help.
