Ryzen 7 5800X3D is coming

5800X3D, Coming, Ryzen

First announced at CES 2022 earlier this year, AMD has just officially confirmed the price and availability which they claim is the best CPU for gaming they’ve created to date, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Additionally, the processor and graphics card maker also announced the expansion of the Ryzen desktop processor lineup, with some exciting new models.

This launch is not just any, and you will have already guessed it by the atypical nomenclature that this processor has. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is the first AMD Ryzen processor to incorporate the highly acclaimed AMD 3D V-Cache technology, thanks to which – according to AMD data – they offer a 15% extra return in games compared to other processors without this technology.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, ¿this best processor for gaming?

As AMD itself said in the press release for the launch of this new processor, we face (and we quote verbatim) “the world’s most advanced desktop processor for gaming.” It may be saying too much, but it is true that we are facing the first 8-core AMD Ryzen with AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology, which we have heard so much about lately, and according to the data from the manufacturer in itself it allows to improve performance up to 15% when we use it to play, which is not nothing.

“Whether you’re a power user looking for ultimate gaming performance or a gamer building your first PC, you’ll find the best experience possible with AMD.”– said Saeid Moshkelani, vice president and general manager of the AMD business unit. “With today’s announcement, AMD is giving users choice, bringing cutting-edge gaming performance to PC setups at every level.”

We will still have to wait a bit to find out the real performance of this new AMD processor, since they have not announced its launch as such, but have disclosed both its price and its availability date (and we will have to wait until then or up to a few days in advance to see how it behaves at the moment of truth).

The new AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D will hit stores worldwide from April 20with an initial RRP of $449, which as you know will become 449 dollars.

In addition to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D we told you about, AMD has also launched a new series of processors for desktop PCs, among which, curiously, we find a mix between the brand’s Zen 2 and Zen 3 architectures. These processors are included in the consumer line, and according to AMD, they are an ideal solution for new computers since they offer up to 8 cores, 16 threads and 36 MB of total cache with a maximum TDP of 65 watts, and you can find all their characteristics in the table that we have prepared for you above.

All new processors come with a Wraith Stealth heatsink and should be available starting next month. April 4 at the prices we have indicated in the table.

Finally, in addition to the launch of these new processors, AMD has announced that it will expand support for Ryzen 5000 processors in the AMD 300 series chipsets, including of course the processors announced today. For this reason, these processors will be compatible with motherboards that have AMD X370, B350 and A320 chipsets, thus offering an easy and cheap upgrade to Zen 3 for users who already have these motherboards, yes, after the BIOS update (which will be available from the beginning of April, according to AMD).
