In the past PC modding was limited to adding lighting, painting and nothing else, but lately it is reaching unimagined limits, as is the case with us today where we can see a whole V8 car engine (V8 means it has 8 cylinders in V shape) with a PC inside, logically designed for fans of racing simulation games.
Biostar Racing Z690GTA-V8, a PC converted to a V8 engine
Biostar proudly displays this modification of its box V8 overdrive, designed specifically around the brand’s RACING Z690GTA motherboard.
The design of this mod is, as the name suggests, designed to emulate a V8 car engine, a fact that represents the performance and raw power of the equipment inside. This authentic work of art contains an AMD graphics card inside Radeon RX6800XT8×4 GB DDR4 TeamGroup XTREEM ARGB (they decided to put more lower capacity RAM modules in order to make their ARGB lighting shine more), an SSD TeamGroup CARDEA Ceramic C440 1TB, a Seasonic PRIME ULTRA 1000 Titanium power supply, and of course one of Intel’s newest and most powerful processors.
But what is really curious and what makes the hardware configuration of this mod unique is undoubtedly its custom liquid cooling system, signed EKWB, extended throughout the system to cool the components with extreme efficiency.
Logically, this mod will not be sold to the general public and will be used more for display purposes, so Sim Racing fans can see how far you can go with the hardware that Biostar sells. Recall that this modification was built around its new Z690GTA motherboard, and in fact the “box” they dubbed Overdrive V8 cannot be purchased individually.
How far will the inventiveness of PC modding go?
As we mentioned in the beginning, PC modding was originally just about adding lights and paints to PC cases, but over time the limits of creativity have been pushed to the point where it seems like they don’t exist.
Of course, you have to keep in mind that in most cases this type of project such as the V8 engine that we showed you today is not within the reach of most users, however fond of be they PC modding. To achieve something similar to what is shown today requires professional tools, lots of money and lots of resources, not just talent or creativity. However, it is still quite curious to see how far the limits of the imagination of professional modders go.
